This outstanding evergreen subshrub bears variegated foliage with cream edges, which takes on rich tones of red and purple during the cooler months of the year. Clusters of exotic-looking lime green flowers appear from spring through to early summer for added interest. With drought resistance and a compact habit, Euphorbia ‘Ascot Rainbow’ is perfect for the front of low-maintenance borders or containers on the patio. Try cutting a few blooms of Martin’s Spurge for a long-lasting flower arrangement indoors. Height and spread: 50cm (20″).

Grow Euphorbia x martini in well drained, light soil in full sun; they resent winter wet. Alternatively grow Euphorbia ‘Ascot Rainbow’ in large patio containers of loam-based compost such as John Innes No.3.
Water Euphorbia x martini plants regularly until fully established. Once established, they are drought tolerant. In summer, cut back faded Euphorbia flower stems to the base to make way for new growth which will flower the following year. Make sure you wear gloves to protect skin from the irritating milky sap. In spring, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Large established clumps of Euphorbia x martini can be lifted and divided in early spring.
