One of the best medium-sized perennials for biodiversity, the hemp agrimony ‘Baby Joe’ is highly attractive to butterflies from mid-summer through to autumn when it is covered in clusters of umbrella-like magenta-mauve flowers. The domed colourful blooms and slender foliage are held firmly on attractive dark purple stems, providing colour contrast which looks good all season – particularly through winter when the impressive seed heads of this compact form of Eupatorium can be left as a structural feature.‘Baby Joe’ is perfect for the smaller garden and thrives in moist soil in sun or shade. Grow Eupatorium in any moist, well drained soil in sun or semi shade. Eupatorium plants are adaptable, thriving in a wide range of condiitons from light, sandy to heavy clay soils.

The decorative seed heads of Eupatorium provide valuable winter interest. Leave them intact until the Spring when they can be trimmed back before new growth commences.
