Forming neat cushions of slender grey green foliage, Pinks are attractive and quick to establish. They also make excellent cut flowers – just perfect for posies and vases. Pot up dianthus plug plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in warm frost free conditions. When dianthus plants are fully rooted into their pots, and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant Pinks in any well drained soil in full sun.
Feed and water dianthus plants regularly until they are fully established. Make sure to weed between plants when they are young. Deadhead faded dianthus flowers frequently to encourage more blooms to be produced.
