Admired for their exotic blooms, resembling birds with bright plumage, which make vibrant, long lasting cut flowers. The stately blue green, deeply ribbed foliage makes an attractive foil for their magnificent flowers. Exquisite specimens for the greenhouse and conservatory, or for a bright windowsill indoors. Move them outside during summer for a striking talking point on the patio! Height: 2m (78″) Spread: 1m (39″) Pot grown plant supplied.

Grow Bird of Paradise plants indoors, in soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Repot the plant at its original soil level and firm well into the new container. Water well and position in frost free conditions in bright light, with shelter from hot sun and strong winds.
Stand containers of Bird of Paradise plants outside in a bright position from May to September. Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Move plants indoors between October and April to a bright, frost free position away from cold draughts and radiators. Water sparingly in winter but do not let the plant dry out completely. Repot into progressively larger containers as the plant increases in size.
