A lovely little woodland perennial, Anemone sylvestris is a low-growing plant forming clumps of feathery green leaves. In late spring a profusion of nodding, scented white flowers with yellow centres appear, giving rise to the common name Snowdrop Anemone. As the flowers fade, fluffy cotton-wool seed heads follow for added interest! Easy to grow, Anemone sylvestris will naturalise well in woodland gardens or the front of borders and makes an excellent groundcover plant. The flowers are also good for cutting and last well in a vase. Height: 30cm (12″). Spread: 50cm (20″).

Choose a sunny or semi shaded position in moist, well drained soil. Anemones prefer a fertile soil so work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. In autumn, cut back any faded flowers and foliage. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Anemones in late Autumn or Spring.
